ゴードン L. アミドン教授は、医薬品の経口吸収に関するBiopharmaceutics Classification System (BCS) を創生したことで世界的に有名です。BCSは、経口剤の品質を保証するための新しいガイドラインの国際標準となっています。一方、アミドン教授はこれまでに日本の大学や企業から多数のポスドク研究者を受け入れるなど、日本とアメリカの人材交流にも尽力されてきました。この度、名古屋市立大学薬学部客員研究員招聘制度で来日されたのを機会に、鳴子地区における地域医療の現地視察として、CHCセンターをご訪問されました。

Professor Gordon L. Amidon (Ph.D., University of Michigan) visited the CHC center for peer observation of community health-care system in Naruko area during his stay in Nagoya as a visiting fellow invited by Nagoya City University. Dr. Amidon is a world-renowned pharmaceutical scientist and well known for his work on the Biopharmaceutics Classification System for oral drug products (BCS). The BCS has now been implemented as a global standard in guidelines to ensure the quality of oral drug products. Furthermore, he has been accepting many postdoctoral researchers from universities and companies in Japan, contributing to exchange of human resources between Japan and the United States.
